Variety are reporting that
Beverely Hills Cop IV is going ahead and that
Eddie Murphy will again reprise the role of his most famous character, Axel Foley. The first
Beverly Hills Cop movie was such a fun flick from the 80's but like most franchises each of the sequels that followed sucked badly. Murphy looked uniterested by the third and was just churning out anything to pick up his big pay check. I guess if they are going to continue the franchise then at least they have got Eddie Murphy back rather than going for somebody to replace him. Hell, I'm more in favour of this sequel than
Bruce Willis trying to be John McClane again so who knows, it might not suck to the high heavens. Murphy is still a fun guy even if he hasn't been in good films lately. source -
