Edgar Wright: 10 Moments That Prove His Utter Genius

8. Don€™t

Don't was a fake trailer Edgar Wright created to run in between the Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino double feature, Grindhouse. There were several fake trailers shown (Rodriguez's own Machete being the most famous given its feature length adaptation and sequel) but this oddly British delight was the funniest. A laugh out loud jab to the ribs of everything horror which came before it. "If you're thinking of seeing this movie alone, DON'T!" It was funny, soap operishly dramatic, gory, and a tad frightening. All in less than one and a half minutes. If you're thinking of doing anything conventional in a horror movie, this trailer let you know: DON'T! I often find myself wondering why they don't try and take a crack at actually making this thing a real movie but then I think: If you're thinking of ruining this genius short by turning it into an actual movie, DON'T!

I'm married and live in New York with my wife and pets. I'm a writer and definitely not a comedian (just ask my wife). I've successfully linked my twitter, goodreads, facebook and google+ pages although the successful aspect of all that is up for debate. I also started my own blog on wordpress and have just finished my first novel, The Violent Winds. Now it's time to try and trick some unsuspecting fool into buying it.
