El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie Review - 7 Ups & 2 Downs

5. It's Beautifully Shot & Directed

Breaking Bad is one of the most meticulously composed TV shows of all time from a visual standpoint, so it's apt that El Camino isn't just another stylistically unfussy, hurriedly thrown together Netflix Original.

El Camino is a gorgeous looking movie, in large part due to the precise, crisp lensing from Better Call Saul's DP Marshall Adams, making the most of both the more sprawling natural environments and the claustrophobic interiors. If you own a 4K TV, this thing looks glorious in the HDR format.

Gilligan's direction is also intensely disciplined, boasting the same cinematic sheen that made the show such a joy to behold, and rife with memorable, creative shot selections which mine every scene for the greatest drama and tension possible.
