Elizabeth Banks: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

2. Wyldstyle - The Lego Movie

The Lego Movie should have been terrible; it€™s a kids movie set in a world made of Lego, so it should just have been an annoying comedy made with the aim of selling toys. Yet it proved to be one of the best comedies €“ for all ages €“ in the last decade, thanks to its energetic style and the quality of the voice acting. Banks provided the voice for female lead Wyldstyle (aka Lucy), a Master Builder who believes that the idiot Emmet might be the key to stopping the evil Lord Business. Again Banks takes a character that could have been an idealised dream girl, only to give it some depth. Wyldstyle might look like the ultimate cool chick yet she€™s ridiculed with insecurities; she's someone who is constantly trying to reinvent herself, as she€™s uncomfortable in her own skin. She€™s also hilarious in the role, as she gets some of the best lines to perform. Thanks to the part, she€™s now responsible for making grown men develop a genuine crush on a Lego figure.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
