Enders Game is slated for November 2013, but I already know its going to suck. A bold statement? Perhaps, but as a massive fan of the books by Orson Scott Card, just looking at the way this films coming together fills me with dread. Am I just another fan of a famous book, who complains because thats not what happened in the book! with an accusing finger pointed at the screen from my previously crossed arms? Maybe, but I also will point out theres been some fantastic book-to-film adaptations; L.A. Confidential, Jurassic Park, Drive and The Lord of the Rings are just some excellent recent efforts in the last two decades. They differ from their respective books to varying degrees, quite substantially in some cases, but theyre still brilliant, and havent sullied my opinion of the book either. However, theres also plenty of books that have been made into appalling films, and sadly it seems like theres at least twice as many of these as there is good adaptations, and I think Enders Game is going to join that list.
