4. Jeremy Renner
The Bourne Legacy was Renner's first attempt to step into another actor's shoes and take over a popular franchise but all he ended up doing was starring in a well made but ultimately boring action film. The Hurt Locker proved that Renner has an intensity to be sure but indie fare seems to be his thing. His screen presence feels... safe... most of the time. Like a big brother who will make sure to get you out of trouble before mom and dad find out what you've done. The smaller and more realistic the story is, the better Renner comes off but when he's expected to carry a film, he's virtually a non-presence. Be honest, how well do you remember him as Hawkeye in The Avengers? He was swallowed whole by something his personality simply isn't equipped to fight against or even work with. Renner as Plissken? Only if you want to forget the movie later that day.
