Escape From New York Remake: 10 Actors Who Should Play Snake Plissken

If you’ve ever wondered why the Fast & Furious franchise gives the majority of the stunts to Michelle Rodriguez rather than Jordana Brewster, just check out their resumes. Brewster usually gets eye candy and damsel in distress roles (Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, anyone?), but since making her debut in Girlfight, Rodriguez has proved she doesn’t need rescuing from anyone.

It’s apt that she’s played a rogue female warrior (Avatar), a gun-toting soldier (Resident Evil) and an eyepatch-wearing badass (Machete), because her character in Escape From New York is a composite of all three. Robert Rodriguez claims he based her character’s look in Machete on Snake Plissken, so she should have no problem leading a search and rescue mission into Manhattan.

If she encounters survivors, then this brusque, straight-talking soldier will make them put aside their differences and follow her to the ends of the earth. It’s called leadership, people.
