Eternals: 10 Biggest Changes From The Comics

5. The Eternals And The Asgardians Were Allies

The Eternals being the source of all weird lore in the Marvel universe is ironic for reasons I'll get more into in just a bit, but one consequence of this was that The Eternals got up to a lot of shenanigans with the other various pantheons of the Marvel universe over the centuries.

What's that you ask? Why were Ikaris, Thena and the rest canonized as the inspiration for various gods and myths when those gods and myths ACTUALLY existed on their own?

The answer is... don't think about it unless you want grey matter to leak out of your ears.

The Eternals most consistent ally once the Marvel universe acknowledged their existence was, of course, Asgard. It's unclear whether or not this will be transplanted over into the movies, but frankly, if Thor knew about the existence of a bunch of superpowered, godlike beings who have been around since the dawn of time and are literally tasked with defending the human race, I like to think he would have said something.
