Eternals: Every Character Ranked From Worst To Best
8. Arishem
Arishem (David Kaye) isn't in the film all that much but makes a literally massive impression every time he does appear, and is easily the movie's most pivotal character in terms of defining the MCU's past and shaping its future.
Arishem is the apparent leader of the Celestials who created the Eternals to effectively help cultivate planets to give birth to new Celestials.
It's a fascinating concept, and though Arishem doesn't have much in the way of personality, he looks awesome and is enormously powerful.
He represents a massive threat to the Eternals who aren't so happy about being used as disposable pawns to wipe out entire civilisations.
The movie's ending suggests we'll be seeing Arishem again in the future, as he has taken Sersi, Phastos (Bryan Tyree Henry), and Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani) with him to "judge" their memories.
While he's clearly never going to be as animated a villain as Thanos (Josh Brolin), hopefully a future film will further flesh out his motivations. This is an intriguing introduction all the same.
