Eurovision Song Contest: The Story Of Fire Saga Review: 4 Ups & 6 Downs
4. Will Ferrell's One-Note Performance
It's fair to say that Will Ferrell's been on a depressing dud streak lately, and sadly you shouldn't count on Eurovision Song Contest: The Story Of Fire Saga to pull him out of his funk.
Once you get over the mildly amusing fact that Ferrell's protagonist Lars Erickssong is basically just your typical Ferrell man-child character with an Icelandic twang, it's clear he's once again phoning things in for an easy paycheck.
Though his work is at least elevated by the more committed performance of his co-star Rachel McAdams - who we'll get to in a moment - for the most part this is Ferrell stuck in neutral and offering up his usual shtick without a compelling script to push him over the top.
