8. The Siege Of Jadotville
Thoughly hardly an authoritative document of the titular conflict, this is nevertheless an entertaining debut for director Richie Smyth, driven by compelling performances from Jamie Dornan and Mark Strong.
In terms of bringing a little-known battle to the big screen with solid style, it does an admirable job, even if character development is fairly scant and it sometimes loses focus on the bigger picture.
The character issue makes it feel a little flat emotionally when it comes to the inevitability of battle, and the script overall lacks the finesse of other war films, but if you're craving a fairly lean pyrotechnics show with good acting to boot, you can do far worse.
