It may borrow liberally from the playbook already laid out by the likes of Source Code and Edge of Tomorrow, but ARQ is nevertheless a mostly compelling low-budget sci-fi that manages to paper over its logical leaps and inconsistent performances.
It relies on a lot of convenience and contrivance, and Robbie Amell and Rachael Taylor aren't exactly the best of actors, but it's rather well-made considering its budget, and presents enough noodle-baking food-for-thought even if it's effortlessly outclassed by the aforementioned films.
