10. Batman Vs. Two-Face

2017 Comic Book Movies
Warner Bros.

In the wake of Adam West's sad death this year, Batman Vs Two-Face became something else on top of just another addition to Warner Bros' animated line of movies. It became an important farewell and something of a celebration of West's Batman.

The expansion of the 1966 Batman series is a well-observed, nostalgic homage with a sweet edge and the added bonus of getting to hear William Shatner as Two-Face. It's also an opportunity to fill in one of the most egregious gaps in the 60s TV show - the absence of the iconic villain whose involvement was limited to one unproduced script, so it's something of a fix for Batman history.

The film's biggest selling point is the comfort of its familiarity, from West's reassuring, entertaining take on Batman to the campy tropes that have now passed from ironic appreciation into genuine charm. And it is definitely a fitting farewell for the great man.
