Though Sylvie killed He Who Remains in the season finale of Loki, nullifying the Sacred Timeline, the multiverse didn’t truly come into effect until Spider-Man: No Way Home. Even this, though, was preceded by the post-credit scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

As the titular Symbiote talked through what he has seen with Eddie Brock, the two were seemingly transported to another universe, in which the news of Peter Parker’s unmasking by Mysterio was on the news. Clearly, Venom knew who this was. This was made more sense of and given more context in the first post-credit scene of No Way Home.

Eddie Brock came through to the MCU along with the rest of the multiversal Spider-Man villains, however he stayed under the radar by heading straight to a bar, getting drunk, and asking the bartender about Thanos and the Avengers. Before he had any impact on his new universe, he was sent back home, though not without leaving a splash of Symbiote behind, potentially teasing a new version of Venom within the walls of the MCU.

This was interesting, and managed to utilize Tom Hardy while still being able to keep him in his own separate universe, but this could have been something far more exciting. Particularly after Electro spoke of a Black Spider-Man, a Miles Morales tease would have been perfect here instead.
