Every Adam Sandler Movie Ranked By How Punchable Adam Sandler Is
8. The Cobbler
Although The Cobbler is about as compelling as a pair of flip flops, the failed fairytale's detriments can't really be pinned on Sandler. No, this time around, he seems weirdly invested in this character, one who comes to own a magical sewing machine that allows him to physically transform into another person by literally walking in their shoes.
The core concept is fine as far as schmaltzy, pseudo-moralistic fantasy movies go, but sweet Mary does this thing get dull. Fast. Eventually, the script becomes so muddled and flimsy that it becomes difficult to focus on any one thing that might be wrong with it.
Was that Sandler's hope here? That audiences would be too overwhelmed by all the holes in this story that they wouldn't have time to envision socking him in the jaw? If so, job partially well done.
Punch Level: A few knuckle sandwiches for Sandler and his sewing machine.
