Every Adam Sandler Movie Ranked By How Punchable Adam Sandler Is
7. The Do-Over
Remember what we said about that other action movie he starred in alongside Damon Wayons in the 90s? About how he could get away with being disappointing as an action hero so long as he brought the ha-has? Well...he didn't do that here.
I mean, he tried. A little bit. But ultimately it's David Spade who ingratiates himself to the viewer, playing slightly against type as the geeky - but not preppy, nor whiny - everyman who never really moved on from his hometown. He's a bit of a sad sack, but he plays the part with more effervescence than Sandler normally musters in the same role.
Meanwhile, Sandler wants to be the badass, but is constantly undermined by the fact that he's a 50-year-old making stiffy jokes to fill the silences. He's fine, but by no means a presence to be clamoring for.
Punch Level: A few roundhouse punches to the jaw for all the stale, testicle-related humor.
