Every Adam Sandler Movie Ranked Worst To Best

29. Grown Ups (2010)

The Waterboy Adam Sandler
Columbia Pictures

The first Grown Ups movie is only marginally better than its offensively poor sequel, but even so it's still a travesty.

On paper, the story of a group of middle-aged friends reconnecting with each other, each played by a star at or just past their own peak, sounds like a sure-fire hit. But alas, whatever virtues it may have are quickly squandered by unlikable characters and bottom of the barrel low-brow gags.

The family matters theme briefly rears its head here, but it's too fleeting for Sandler to salvage. Of all his films, this is the one that deserved so much more.
