Every Avenger's Best Performance OUTSIDE The MCU
19. Chris Evans - Snowpiercer
Chris Evans will always be Captain America, and for ten years of the franchise' run he was one of (what some fans have deemed) The Big Three - playing the most honest and patriotic of the team.
The casting was perfect, which says a lot considering a short time earlier, he was making us all cringe in our seats as Johnny Storm in the forgettable Fantastic Four films. Picturing the actor as anything but a man wrapped in the stars and stripes is a hard thing to imagine, but thankfully he showed his range in Bong Joon-Ho's dystopian sci-fi thriller Snowpiercer.
When actors share a film with Ed Harris, John Hurt and Tilda Swinton, they really have to step up their game, and Evans doesn't back down. As the revolutionary leader Curtis Everett, Evans really gets to play with his violent and dangerous side - in particular tapping into a corner of himself where you're not sure if he is all there as a good guy.
Curtis is an engaging hero - amidst a supporting cast of friends and foes, everything we see Curtis say and do is performed with a charisma that holds the film together.
