Every Batman Movie Opening Scene Ranked From Worst To Best

10. Batman: The Movie

The 1966 Adam West-starring Batman: The Movie is undeniably the least-serious of all the Caped Crusader's cinematic outings, though unlike the aforementioned Schumacher movies it demonstrates far greater awareness and control of its tone.

Following some amusingly film noir-style credits featuring Batman and Robin (Burt Ward), we get right into it - Commodore Schmidlapp (Reginald Denny) is in distress aboard his yacht, and so the Dynamic Duo flies the Batcopter out to sea to save him.

Once they deploy the Bat-ladder and Batman climbs down, though, the Dark Knight finds himself attacked by a shark, prompting him to use the infamous Bat-shark repellent.

Sure, the scene is meme-worthy and easy to laugh at, but if you genuinely think the cast and crew aren't in on the joke after watching the opening in its entirety - plastic shark and all - you're the real fool.

What it lacks in technical finesse it more than compensates for with its sheer charm.
