Every Batman Movie Ranked From Worst To Best
7. Batman: Mask Of The Phantasm
While at the time of its release Batman: Mask Of The Phantasm wasn't given much attention - in part due to Warner Bros. deciding to release it theatrically at the last minute - it went on to become a cult classic once it hit home video.
Despite clocking in at a lean 78 minutes - basically half the length of a Christopher Nolan Batman movie - Mask of the Phantasm remains one of the most deft and richest character-driven stories in the Dark Knight's cinematic oeuvre.
Much like the animated series it spawned from, the art direction is gorgeous throughout, and matched by mesmeric vocal performances from Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill as Batman and The Joker respectively.
If some might dismiss it as not being a "proper" Batman film because it's not live-action, they're missing out on what was the most purely comic-faithful Batman movie until Batman Begins came along.
