Every Batman Movie Ranked Worst To Best

6. Batman Begins

Batman Movies
Warner Bros.

The leap in quality from Batman Forever to Christopher Nolan's trilogy starter is almost embarrassingly big, even if it doesn't qualify in the top five Batman movies list any more.

Begins' achievement in giving new life to the character after Joel Schumacher dragged the character through a mincer and Warner Bros failed to deliver on several attempted reboots cannot be underplayed. Nolan might very consciously move away from the mythology of the character - at least in terms of making him a comic book hero - but his reinvented lore breathed invigorating new life into the source material he did adopt.

Now, if anyone dared make an origin as bold or as long as Begins, they'd be pelted from the forums, despite how well Nolan's measured approach fleshes out Bruce Wayne as a character. Of the three films in his trilogy, this feels the most like the studio's movie (or at least the one they had the most say on), which is to its slight (very slight) detriment, but it's still a world apart from Schumacher's mess adn established a whole new, leaner Batman driven once more by symbolism.
