Every Batman Ranked From Worst To Best

4. Will Arnett

As a reset button on the silent-but-violent beefcake vibe which had hit a crescendo of brown-noise growling in The Dark Night Rises, Arnett€™s riffing on the emotionally dulled, almost nihilistic worldview and not always entirely necessary ultraviolence of Bale€™s Batman acts as a great release valve, allowing the next screen Batman to go their own way with it knowing that we€™ve acknowledged the ludicrousness of some aspects Bale€™s Batman.

Arnett does a good job of showing what an inconsiderate a**hole Batman is most of the time €“ he can bang on about being the hero Gotham needs all he wants, but that just re-emphasises the fact that he€™s also a massive show-off who needs to just simmer down a second.
