Every Batman Ranked From Worst To Best

3. Kevin Conroy

A virtually unknown name outside of fan circles, Kevin Conroy is easily longest-serving denizen of the cape and cowl, having portrayed Batman in pretty much every non-film outing he€™s had since 1992. Whether it€™s animated series, straight-to-video cartoon feature films, or video games, Conroy is your boy for a muscular, assured take on the Batman voice.

Naturally, the fact that Conroy€™s Batman is animated gives a lot more latitude for impressionistic interpretations of the character€™s look; the smooth, controlled, masterful mien Conroy gives to his Batman fits with the blank-eyed, more-chin-than-man look of his incarnation beautifully.

The contrast between his Batman and the breathy, often angsty Bruce Wayne is different enough, but subtle enough, for you to believe they€™re two sides of the same man.

Remarkably, you can also actually hear what he€™s saying. During a fan forum at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo in 2010 he registered his bafflement at the fact that nobody had pointed out to Christian Bale that he was borderline indecipherable: €œSomeone should have stopped him and said, €˜You sound ridiculous€™€.

HE€™S ONE OF US.
