Though certainly a tad underwhelming coming from the great J. C. Chandor (A Most Violent Year), Triple Frontier is nevertheless a tightly wound thriller following a group of former U.S. Army Delta Force operators who reunite to rip off a South American crime lord.

Affleck co-stars opposite Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam, Garrett Hedlund, and Pedro Pascal, in a visually stunning, action-packed thriller that's never not entertaining, even as it begins to lose grip on its own internal logic by act three.

Affleck is terrifically world-weary here and leads a game cast, even if Triple Frontier falls far shorter of greatness than you might expect from Chandor and The Hurt Locker writer Mark Boal.
