Every Best Picture Oscar Winner Ranked Worst To Best

74. You Can't Take It With You (1938)

One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest
Columbia

Admittedly not an all-timer for the legendary Frank Capra, You Can’t Take it With You is nothing to sniff at, with the veteran filmmaker telling a story of family that’s both on the nose, but uniquely charming and thoughtful.

One of the Academy’s more subtle winners, the romantic drama’s assessment of family, love, and the value of money is simple, heart-warming fun. It’s not particularly gutsy, but it’s also tough to hate, especially when Jimmy Stewart is this agreeable.
