Every Best Picture Oscar Winner Ranked Worst To Best
70. The Artist (2011)
One of the Academy’s more debated winners, Michel Hazanavicius’s romantic ode to the silent era of cinema is ably crafted and quite fun, but unchallenging and predictably wholesome in such a way that it’s easy to forget.
The Artist is one of those spectacle movies that's easy to enjoy in the moment, what with its lively tunes and admittedly pretty black-and-white presentation, but you'll still never watch it again. It's charming enough, but time has made it a bland choice that clearly only won because Hollywood loves to pat itself on the back.
