Every Bond Movie Theme Song Ranked Worst To Best

3. Live And Let Die By Paul McCartney And The Wings

Paul McCartney is a true great of Music history, and for this learned writer, he is the greatest songwriter of all time. The majority of the Beatles classics, including Hey Jude, Eleanor Rigby and so, so many more were all written at the hands of Sir Paul.

It is hard to argue though that he never hit the same heights as a solo artist/non Beatles act. The one noticeable exception to that rule is his wonderful rock anthem for the first Roger Moore Bond flick, which is not just a great Bond song, but one of the best rock songs of all time. I mean when Guns 'n' Roses at their peak choose to cover a song, you know it's damn good.

McCartney starts the cracking track with a verse that slowly broods, hinting it may turn into a love song at anytime. But at the point where you feel you know where the song is headed, Sir Paul lets his guitar sing and sends us all to rock heaven. The way the tune seamlessly switches from love song to rock anthem to hints of reggae and back again is simply unbelievable.

While the tune is incredible, the movie is diabolical. One wonders if McCartney had known just how trashy and racist the film would be if he would have gone ahead with the song. Thankfully he did make this rock classic which will live on well after memory of the film has died out.

While he likes to know himself as the 'thunder from down under', Luke is actually just a big dork who loves all things sport, film, James Bond, Doctor Who and Karaoke. With all the suave and sophistication of any Aussie half way through a slab, Luke will critique every minute detail of films and shows from all eras- unless it's 1990's Simpsons episodes, because they're just perfect
