Every Bond Movie Theme Song Ranked Worst To Best
4. Skyfall By Adele
When we look back at the 2010's, there may not be too many treasured memories, with the likes of Trump and Dustin Johnson polluting the world with their presence. But one person whose contribution to this time will be looked back upon with great fondness is the beautiful in every way Adele. Her no BS demeanour notwithstanding, Adele was the voice of the decade, with songs that we could all relate to delivered by a voice we could all only dream of.
Coming off the staggering heights of her second album, 21, Adele was soon signed up to write and sing the song for Skyfall, and wow did she deliver! While the usual high notes that are her bread and butter are turned down a little here, there is a tenderness and genuineness to the lyrics that keeps the listener captivated throughout. The use of piano works just as well here as on 21, building momentum until the spectacular finale when Adele lets those lungs let loose.
The song works perfectly with the conclusion of the pre credit sequence too, Adele outpouring the line this is the end just as Daniel Craig's Bond seemingly falls to his death. Adele then effortlessly brings him to life with her next line, hold your breath and count to ten, with Bond dutifully obliging, because who wouldn't do exactly as she says?
