Every Cillian Murphy Movie Ranked Worst To Best

4. On The Edge (2003)

Cillian Murphy Inception
Universal Pictures

As an actor, Murphy has many defining characteristics that make him such a compelling performer, but perhaps the best is his sensitivity, an ability to step inside the shoes of troubled or flawed souls and give them a depth of empathetic humanity.

His early role as a suicidal teenager in On the Edge remains two decades after its release one of Murphy's most sensitive performances, capturing the soul of a young man forced into therapy after the death of his father with such care and honesty he completely disappears.

Shattering, defiant, and caught in a heartbreaking love triangle, Murphy's exploration of mental illness and trauma does not make for an easy watch, but you'll find yourself lost in his journey and rooting for him every step of the way.
