Every Cillian Murphy Movie Ranked Worst To Best

You can file The Delinquent Season under Solid Idea, Terrible Execution. The story of two couples caught in a romantic crossroads, it stars Murphy as a married man engaged in an affair with his wife's best friend.

It's not particularly original, but its melodramatic script does allow Murphy to be his most unlikable, unconventional self, which is at least briefly intriguing. Unfortunately, this is also the film's downfall, its one-note, inauthentic characters becoming too dull and repetitive to leave much of a mark.

With soap opera-like silliness that eventually suffocates Murphy and his co-stars, the film quickly becomes too insufferable to enjoy.
