Every DC Movie That's Just Been Delayed

5. The Batman - October 1 2021

The first of the confirmed delayed released dates for the DCEU with the Robert Pattinson led film delayed by several months. The Batman was initially planned to be released on June 25 2021 but has at this stage been given an updated release date of October 1 2021. Unlike The Suicide Squad, this date seems far more speculative with a significant chance of further delays to be announced.

Unlike the James Gunn project which wrapped up its shoot in the knick of time, filming for The Batman was placed on an indefinite hiatus due to the current world predicament. Considering that principal photography had only begun on 27 January of this year, it is fair to assume that the majority of the film is still to be shot. The scenes that were filmed occurred in London, but it is unclear as to how much of the shoot will occur there. If there is a significant amount of scenes required to be shot in the US, then it seems extremely unlikely that filming will be completed anytime this year.

While the scheduling for all events are up in the air at the moment, this is one film that seems more likely than not to end up hitting theatres in 2022.
