Every DCEU Movie Ranked From Worst To Best (According To IMDb)

With the release of Aquaman in 2018, Warner Bros made a big step away from the dark and gritty tone Zack Snyder tried to make the trademark of the DCEU. One year later, Shazam seemingly confirmed the complete abandonment of Snyder's vision, taking the franchise in a much more fun filled, almost Marvel-esque direction.

The choice of the character does seem to support this thinking, as it would be all but impossible to make a dark version of Shazam. The hero by nature is fun and just a bit silly, since he is after all, still a kid with super powers.

However, while this has been seen as an improvement in the fans' eyes from the likes of Batman V Superman and Justice League, 7.1 is still a relatively average score, particularly when compared to the MCU. As much as these comparisons aren't ideal, this will always be the yardstick to which the DCEU is measured.

All this being said, the unparalleled success of Joker outside the confines of the extended universe has proven that dark and gritty comic book movies can earn both critical acclaim AND the piles of money Warner Bros crave. Will this be enough to convince the studio Snyder may have been on to something, or will they stick with the creative direction they have now steered the franchise toward?
