Every Denzel Washington Movie Ranked Worst To Best
10. The Hurricane (1999)
Norman Jewison's powerful portrayal of the rise and fall of boxer Ruben "Hurricane" Carter takes aim at everything in sight, leaving no stone unturned as it analyses the cause and effects of Carter's imprisonment for a murder he didn't commit.
There are some passing issues with the way the story is plotted, but any flaws The Hurricane may have aren't even remotely able to overshadow Washington's at once raging, conflicted and helpless performance.
Washington captures the horrors Carter faced throughout his incarceration, whilst never looking away from the man's genuine flaws. It's the kind of performance that transcends the film it's in.
