Every Fast & Furious Movie Ranked Worst To Best
8. The Fate Of The Furious (2017)
Much like F9, Fate of the Furious is completely aware of itself. This is a film, after all, that features a chase sequence complete with hundreds of computer-controlled cars being thrown through the streets of New York City.
But, much like its sequel, Fate is a film bogged down by its cheap emotional core, as Dom is forced to betray his team and rally behind Cipher after she kidnaps his ex-lover Elena (Elsa Pataky) and his estranged child.
The film is never able to properly sell Dom's turn to the dark side, making the whole development feel oddly forced, cringe-worthily melodramatic, and low-stakes predictable.
All that aside, though, there are some redeeming qualities, including the typically zany action beats (the remote-controlled car sequence is insanely fun) and a scene-stealing Jason Statham as mostly-reformed big bad Deckard Shaw, who gets the best scene in the movie when he saves Dom's son from Cipher whilst having the baby listen to The Chipmunk Song.
