Every Fox Movie That Has Bombed Under Disney (And How Much They Lost)

6. Stuber ($26 Million Loss)

Production Budget: $16 million | Worldwide Gross: $29 million

On paper, Stuber must've sounded like a great idea. Dave Bautista and Kumail Nanjiani were both pretty hot at the time (thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and The Big Sick, respectively), and it didn't require a huge budget to make (the commonly-reported figure is $16 million, although some outlets have claimed it was closer to $25 million).

Unfortunately though, it didn't really work out. With middling review scores and a noticeable lack of fanfare on its opening weekend, it couldn't even crack $30 million worldwide, which simply isn't good enough considering its $16 million budget and $30 million advertising spend.

And when you look at all these numbers, it's clear that the flick lost money. Of that $29 million total gross, you have to shave off at least $9 million (around one third) to account for the percentage that's pocketed by movie theatres. So, with a $46 million spend against $20 million of income, the movie could potentially have lost around $26 million.

Even worse, that's assuming it was budgeted at $16 million, and not the $25 million that some other outlets have claimed.
