5. The Art Of Racing In The Rain ($13 Million Loss)

Production Budget: $18 million | Worldwide Gross: $30 million

The first of Disney-Fox's recent box-office flops about a man and his dog, we'd totally understand if you've never even heard of The Art Of Racing In The Rain, such is the teeny-tiny impact it made upon its August 2019 release.

With just $30 million in overall receipts, very few people ventured out to see it, and frustratingly for the companies behind the flick, even its appropriately-low $18 million production budget wasn't low enough to keep it in the black.

Shaving off $10 million from its gross as a rough estimate for how much movie theatres kept, the movie is left with $20 million to its name. Then, on top of its $18 million budget, you have to add in marketing costs, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, its advertising campaign was quite extensive.

It probably wasn't as expensive as Stuber's, but even with an extremely conservative guess of $15 million, the movie would've lost $13 million for its parent studios.
