Every Francis Ford Coppola Movie Ranked Worst To Best
8. Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992)
There have been dozens upon dozens of Dracula adaptations, but few quite as madcap as Coppola's 1992 horror extravaganza. With Gary Oldman in the lead role, Coppola's vision of Bram Stoker's classic novel is nothing short of his most over-the-top and gleefully self-indulgent project.
There are several things people remember about the film (even if they haven't seen it) including Oldman's deliciously dark portrayal of the titular vampire, Keanu Reeves' woefully misguided supporting turn and Antony Hopkins' embarrassingly hammy Van Helsing.
What people may have forgotten above these obvious talking points is the direction of Coppola and the sheer beauty of the colours, set design, costumes, action scenes and dream sequences. Sure, Dracula is silly, wild and completely untamed, but it's so assured of itself and boundlessly entertaining that its famous eccentricities only add to its undeniable greatness.
