Every Halloween Movie Ranked Worst To Best After Halloween Kills

12. Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers (1995)

Halloween Kills
Dimension Films

The Curse of Michael Myers has exactly one saving grace, and that's the fact that it introduced the world to Paul Rudd, who stars as a grown-up Tommy Doyle obsessed with uncovering the secrets of Michael's motives.

Pulling the mystery from Michael Myers' unexplained evil isn't necessarily a bad idea, but in Curse it's offered up in such a convoluted and cheesy way you can practically see the writers grasping at straws, desperate to try something new.

There are other issues, too, including its irritating and underdeveloped characters (even Rudd and a still-game Donald Pleasance can't save it), uninspired action, and the sloppy execution of its plot, which bounces between character and subplot with all the grace of a three-legged elephant.

In the vast pantheon of Halloween sequels and reboots, The Curse of Michael Myers is one of few that we should all just forget happened. But, hey, kudos on introducing us to Paul Rudd. We're very grateful.

I get to write about what I love, so that's pretty cool. Every great film should seem new every time you see it. Be excellent to each other.
