Every Halloween Movie (They Never Actually Made)

Rob Zombie's reboot of the Halloween franchise isn't the most beloved of entries into the series, coming as the ninth entry into Michael Myers's mixed up lore that went back to the roots of the story and told it anew. Instead of potentially becoming a point of ridicule in a series that had been going far too long however, the son of executive producer Moustapha Akkad wanted to keep his father's film legacy alive - so started fresh instead.

Retribution was the mainline concept for number 9, which would have brought back Laurie's son John Strode, and Annie Brackett's father Leigh, as they join forces to take down Myers as revenge for the ones that they lost.

In this film, Michael dies drowning under a frozen lake, and it's implied that John will take up the evil mantle later down the line in absence of a villain. It wasn't made due to Akkad's death in a terrorist attack, with Zombie's reboot taking precedence instead.
