Every Headline MCU Protagonist Ranked From Worst To Best
15. Natasha Romanoff - Black Widow
Black Widow has been a fan favorite among Marvel fans ever since her debut in Iron Man 2, and she was deserving of her own film for a long time, even if it disappointedly came out after her death in Endgame.
In her role as a protagonist, Natasha has as great of a presence as she does in every other movie she’s been in. Except now, we get to know a lot more about her through the conversations with her family and deeper insights into her way of thinking.
Scarlett Johansson’s performance also elevates her character as she’s done before, creating a strong female character with all the fragility and emotion that protagonists should have—making us want to root for her and see her succeed more so than in any other film.
While it is disappointing that her movie came out after her death which somewhat lessens the impact of her role in the story, she’s still one of the more assertive protagonists the MCU has given us and one we won’t be forgetting anytime soon as her sister Yelena will continue the role of Black Widow in the future.
