Every Hidden Pennywise From IT Chapter 1 & 2

11. The Mural - It

Pennywise Mural
Warner Bros.

Who says something being permanently painted onto a wall is any impediment to Pennywise sneaking into it? Proving that he could appear in any picture or photograph he likes, the creepy clown appears in a wall mural before our very eyes in the first movie.

Right after Henry Bowers attacks Ben and carves into his belly with his trusty knife, the other Losers try to treat his wounds in a back alley, relying on Eddie's experience with hypochondria to help stitch him back up. This happens in front of a wall mural telling the story of the infamous Bradley gang shoot out in Derry. It's an important reference because that's where a group of adults remembered seeing Pennywise for the first time.

The mural is just normal the first time we see it, but then as the Losers help Ben, we see it again and Pennywise has appeared under the arch of the car wheel, right behind Ben menacingly.

In a great little continuity nod, when we se the mural a couple of times in the sequel, Pennywise is no longer painted into it under the car.
