It's been five years since The Clone Wars came to an end that didn't really get the chance to wrap things up properly, and while many fans had largely made peace with that, Disney have thrown a bone: The Clone Wars is returning for a seventh season on Disney Plus.

Dave Filoni is once again overseeing things, and the 12 new episodes look set to take the story right up to the point of Revenge of the Sith. The war has been left unfinished, until now. There'll be some big returns, there's business left to take care of, and we might be seeing major events like the Siege of Mandalore alongside the build-up to the execution of Order 66.
