Every James Bond Finale Ranked

8. Goldeneye - No... For Me

James Bond Quantum of Solace
MGM

Although Goldeneye's ending perhaps gets overshadowed by some of the film's other set-pieces, its climax is still absolutely excellent.

It's a high-stakes, endlessly thrilling ticking clock climax that has everything you'd want from a Bond finale. It's got memorable gadgets, a killer villain, a Bond Girl who actually helps the mission succeed instead of just needing to be rescued, jaw-dropping spectacle, a hilarious death scene for one of the series' best henchmen (Alan Cummings) and hell, even if the greatest death scene a main Bond villain has ever had.

"For England, James?" "No... for me."

Seriously, what more could you want?

There's a one-liner dropped by Bond's CIA agent ally Jack Wade (Joe Don Baker, who also played General Whittaker in The Living Daylights) about Guantanamo Bay ("Maybe you two would like to finish debriefing each other down at Guantanamo?") which has aged horribly for obvious reasons, but other than that this is an exemplary Bond finale with few missteps.
