Every James Bond Girl Ranked From Worst To Best

42. Mary Goodnight - The Man With The Golden Gun

James Bond Girls Ranked
MGM/UA

Mary Goodnight (Britt Ekland) is similar to Rosie Carver: she's nothing more than a vehicle for tiresome embarrassment comedy.

In fairness, Goodnight isn't as bad as that character since Britt Ekland does bring some charm to the role but the character's still a real low-point for the Bond Girl.

The spectacle of Mary Goodnight messing up and humiliating herself again and again - at one point, she nearly kills Bond when she accidentally activates a laser that her rear end is pressed against - is not funny or entertaining; it's just exasperating, annoying and feels rather cruel.

Ekland's likeable performance ensures that this isn't a character you'll hate; rather, it's a character you'll really pity... which isn't much better. As such, Mary Goodnight is another one of the worst Bond Girls of all time.
