Every James Bond Girl Ranked From Worst To Best
26. Pussy Galore - Goldfinger
This one being so low will be controversial, but Pussy Galore (Honor Blackman) isn't particularly great as a character. Despite the best efforts of Honor Blackman, who gives a very decent performance as Galore, the only particularly interesting thing about this one is her infamously provocative name.
At first, Pussy Galore (who works as a pilot) is an ally of main villain Goldfinger (Gert Frobe) who's meant to help in his evil scheme, but after she and Bond have a fight in the hay and he forcibly kisses her, she very suddenly changes sides. It's subtly implied that Pussy is (as she was in the novel) a lesbian but then Bond manages to 'turn' her... OK then.
This bewildering moment is easily the worst plot point in a mostly brilliant film and Galore's story-line is just too rushed and bizarre to work.
If you want an attractive, alluring and unique (for the time) female figure then Pussy Galore will do just fine, but if you want a film character who really works as... you know, a film character, you'll be left disappointed.
