Every James Bond Henchmen Ranked

39. Erich Kriegler - For Your Eyes Only

Adolph Gettler James Bond
MGM/UA

After the success of Red Grant and Oddjob from From Russia with Love and Goldfinger respectively, large, strong and mostly silent henchmen have become a Bond staple. Unfortunately, none of them have ever lived up to those early villains and most of them have been pretty weak. Erich Kriegler (John Wyman) is no exception.

This particular one is an East German skier who is Aristotle Kristatos' (Julian Glover) KGB contact. He's involved in a couple of good set-pieces - namely the ski chase and the final assault on Kristatos' mountain hideout - but other than that he's a derivative and uninteresting Bond henchman.

He's certainly not as terrible as the likes of Nick Nack or Wint and Kidd, but he is still one of the weaker Bond henchmen to date.
