Steven Obanno (Isaach de Bankole), a Ugandan warlord, entrusts his money to Le Chiffre early on in the film, but Le Chiffre then loses it and Obanno comes after him. He is killed by Bond in the film's titular casino.

Obanno is a refreshingly realistic, down-to-earth side-villain who was well-played and participates in a brilliant fight scene, but he was still under-used, under-developed and felt like he could've been so much more. He also reflects the rather unfortunate trend in Hollywood that, whenever an African character is in a movie, they always seem to be a warlord.
