18. Ed Killifer - Licence To Kill

Adolph Gettler James Bond
MGM

Ed Killifer (Everett McGill) is a small but memorable villain who, by letting main villain Franz Sanchez escape from custody (for a million dollars), sets off Licence to Kill's entire story.

Sometimes, in Bond films, the more believable and human villains are incredibly refreshing and although he dies too quickly to have much of an impact, Killifer is a good example of this. McGill does good work as him in the few scenes the character has and he's also on the receiving end of one of Bond's coldest kills.

Killifer offers to split the reward money with Bond but Bond replies "You earned it. You keep it, old buddy." He then throws the suitcase at Killifer and sends him tumbling into a shark tank, where the shark kills him.
