19. Dr No - Dr No
Dr Julius No (Joseph Wiseman), a Chinese-German scientist who is a member of SPECTRE, was the very first main Bond villain. He's not one of the best though.
He gets some very good dialogue and the build-up before he's revealed is cleverly done, but once he arrives he falls a bit flat on-screen. Joseph Wiseman's performance is pretty disinterested, he doesn't get nearly enough screen-time and in the final showdown between Bond and No, he dies far too quickly. He also has strong, artificial hands but this isn't ever mentioned enough.
The worst thing about the character today is that he's meant to be mixed-race East Asian, but Wiseman is most definitely not Asian and given some 'yellowface' make-up to pass as such. Of course, this was common practice back then, but this part of the film certainly hasn't aged well.
