Every James Bond Villain Ranked Worst To Best

7. Max Zorin - A View To A Kill

Although A View to a Kill is arguably a dreadful film, Christopher Walken's villain is genuinely fantastic and by far the best thing in it.

As written, Max Zorin - a businessman who works in the electronic and microchip markets - is a very compelling villain, which is impressive judging by how forgettable and weak most of the other villains of the Roger Moore era were (aside from Francisco Scaramanga and some of the henchmen characters).

The result of a Nazi human experiment, Zorin has that interesting (although under-explored) backstory and his big plan - which is to cause an earthquake that'll destroy Silicon Valley and wipe out competition for his company - is very good too. He's also a very frightening psychopath who kills people loyal to him all the time.

All that being said, the great Christopher Walken takes a good villain and makes him an outstanding one with his fabulous performance, which is one of the greatest performances you'll ever see in a terrible movie. Unhinged, sadistic, charismatic and just the right side of hammy, Walken is a magnetic villain on-screen and one of the nastiest, most evil and most entertaining bad guys Bond has ever faced.
